“We decided to check out this little secret in Carey. My wife and I took a few friends this past Friday Nov. 27. OMG we all had the greatest time. We all laughed till our sides hurt. They had this magician there that was doing magic at each of the tables. He was not only good but hilarious also. Our group played right along with him. The drink specials were very good, very reasonable, $2 domestic I think. The appetizers were delicious, we had shrimp cocktails. The waitress was polite and attentive to our table. They also had a dj that played some oldies but goodies music. We had such a great time we plan to go back again soon especially if that magic guy is there. Someone said he may be there each Friday for the cocktail hour. This little place will not be a secret for long.” -Jon
“Moreno’s is a good place to meet friends. It’s usually quite busy on the weekends which tells you that the locals love it. I’ve enjoyed each dish I’ve had. The bread and oil were excellent. Today, I had Pesto pasta with grilled chicken. The sauce and pasta were outstanding. My husband and I ate until we were full and the bill came to just a bit over $10. Overall very good for the price. Our waiter and waitress were very friendly and service was excellent.” -Lesley
“Seven of us went together to throw a bridal shower for my niece-to-be this past Sunday. Angel and his staff were the best! We chose five of their luncheon sandwiches to offer our guests and played the typical shower games while our lunch orders were prepared. The tables were decked out with cloth linens, and looked lovely. We brought our own flowers to compliment our pink and brown theme. The bride-to-be’s favorite dessert is s’mores and Angel prepared a s’more dessert to die for. It was the perfect compliment to a great event. Kara, the new catering manager, worked with us over the last week to make sure the details were all set and took great care of us. We’ve attended a class reunion there and were also pleased with the buffet that was prepared. The prices for both were reasonable and hard to match from any other caterer.” -Judith T.
“The town of Carey does not have a lot of culinary choices as far as dining. The only known review on Tripadvisor was for the Carey Cafe which is now closed. However, if you do have the chance to pass through this small country town and if you’re hungry for dinner, don’t pass up this excellent little find. We visited the restaurant after being advised by our friend from Tiffin on our way back to Columbus and got there just as it opened at 4PM. The property has that small town feel, full and comfortable bar with flat screens and sports, excellent seating options with white table clothes with cozy chairs with clean and private bathrooms for men and ladies. They even have ample space for small banquets, as the building is the old general post office. The part owner/chef Angel is very friendly, and the staff is outstanding. The menu features a good mixed variety of Mexican and traditional American dishes, the food is excellent, but the prices were so low I thought I was in South America! Five dollars for a vodka martini and $11.95 for a New York with a baked potato and veggies! You have to be kidding! We had the pasta puttanesca with shrimp and it was superb. A garlic mushroom appetizer with an excellent white wine and the entire bill for my wife and I was less than a 10 oz. Filet in New York, Chicago or Los Angeles with the sides. Don’t miss this “out of the way” winner when passing through this rural area of Ohio. Ask for Angel and he’ll make it memorable.” -rohbogen
“For the small town of Carey, this place is a surprising little gem. It is in a neat old building and the whole place has a great feel to it. It will definitely be worth stopping in and trying the place out instead of driving to Findlay or upper Sandusky for dinner.“ -jshaffe
